Randolph took a big step up this week, beating Morristown-Beard 4-1, West Essex 4-0, and St. Joseph’s Metuchen 4-0 to ascend to the No. 7 spot, just behind the six oligarchs trading punches atop the rankings. The Central Conference is beating itself up, with the top five Red Division teams and Ridge battling it out. Their battling helped unbeaten Pope John move into the Top 10 for the first time. Hopewell Valley took out WWPN, while St. Augustine stepped atop the Southern Red, opening the door for Morris Knolls to return to the Top 20.

Check out the White/Blue Top 20 ranking for lower-division teams.

Best of the Rest (ranks 21-35, alphabetically)

Bridgewater-Raritan — Panthers can still do Central Red damage with two games against West Essex.

Hopewell Valley — Bulldogs get huge win over WWPN in Titan Cup semifinal; now take on Hightstown.

Middletown North — Great win over Middletown South, but Lions upset by Rumson Sunday night.

Montville — They’re unbeaten, but their presence says a lot about the inconsistency at the White Division level.

Morristown-Beard — Crimson beat Hun, but tied Summit; awaiting any signs of offense.

Paramus — Spartans struggling of late, need to regain initiative in Northern Red.

Pingry — Big Blue leading Halvorsen Division, but can they survive without much depth?

Ridgewood — Maroons come up with several big wins to stay in Northern White race.

Roxbury — The Gaels have been playing very well lately, just missing out on the Top 20.

Rumson/Fair Haven — Huge 2-1 upset of Middletown North keeps them in the Southern White running.

South Brunswick — Vikings slip up against MonDon, now face three-way title race.

Tenafly — Tigers had poor results against Don Bosco (0-5) and PC (3-2); now they face Bosco again.

Toms River East — Raiders slipped in tie with Old Bridge and 5-2 loss to Middletown South.

Toms River North — Mariners still in second in the Southern Red, but fading fast.
