As we’ve become accustomed to, only the top six teams were safe from upset, as elite public schools Randolph and Brick Township both went down to shocking defeats, and all three Red Divisions saw some results that throw a wrench in the ranking system.

  1 — Bergen Catholic (9-1-2, 6-1-2 Gordon Conference)

            This Week: 1/27 @ #12 SJMet; 1/29 vs. #5 HC

            No problem against Brick; Crusaders are preparing for Wednesday rematch with Hudson Catholic.

  2 — Seton Hall Prep (8-2-2, 7-2-1 Gordon Conference)

            This Week: 1/27 vs. PDS; 2/1 @ #15 DBP

            Good win against St. John Vianney, but they were lucky to beat CBA.

  3 — Delbarton (12-1-1, 8-0 MCSSIHL Mennen Division)

            This Week: 1/29 @ Malvern Prep; 2/1 Men

            Impressive 5-1 win over St. George’s (R.I.); Malvern Prep game will also be a proving ground.

  4 — CBA (9-3-2, 4-3-2 Gordon Conference)

            This Week: 1/29 vs. #18 BE; 1/31 @ #5 HC

            Continue to lead Shore Conference; unfortunate road loss to Seton Hall Prep.

  5 — Hudson Catholic (7-3-4, 4-1-3 Gordon Conference)

            This Week: 1/27 @ LaS; 1/29 @ #1 BC; 1/31 vs. #4 CBA

            Still only one Gordon Conference loss and three more tough games for Hudson this week.

  6 — St. John Vianney (6-6-2, 3-5-2 Gordon Conference)

            This Week: 1/29 @ MB; 1/31 vs. #18 BE; 2/2 @ MidS

            Lancers need three wins this week to get their season back on track (1-2-2 in last five Gordon games.)

  7 — Pope John (10-0-2, 8-0-1 Northern Red)

            This Week: 1/31 vs. #15 DBP; 2/2 @ #14 Ten

            Weak schedule, but they’ve earned this rank as an unbeaten Red Division team — tough week ahead.

  8 — St. Augustine (7-3-1, 6-2-1 Southern Red)

            This Week: 1/31 vs. #20 SB

            Hermits make big jump because they didn’t lose and are the first to clinch a playoff spot in Southern Red.

  9 — Randolph (13-2, 6-2 MCSSIHL Mennen Division)

            This Week: 2/1 #17 MK

            Yes they lost to Chatham, but the Rams were without Pencinger and are still the public school to beat.

10 — Brick Township (5-6-4, 2-4-3 Gordon Conference)

            This Week: 2/2 vs. RBC

            Green Dragons fall to Middletown South, which has lost by six to Middletown North and Brick Memorial.

11 — West Essex (9-5-1, 6-2-1 Central Red)

            This Week: 2/2 @ Lak

            Six-game Central Red unbeaten streak has Knights the frontrunners for the division title.

12 — St. Joseph’s Metuchen (5-8-1, 2-6-1 Gordon Conference)

            This Week: 1/27 vs. #1 BC; 1/31 @ PDS

            One of bottom three Gordon teams; smoked by Randolph and lost to Bosco. Looks like a long week.

13 — Ridge (14-1-1, 9-0 Central White)

            This Week: 1/30 @ Ver; 2/2 vs. John

            Interesting results against Bridgewater; Red Devils should run the table into the states.

14 — Tenafly (13-2-1. 8-1-1 Northern Red)

            Big win over Don Bosco keeps Tigers in second place in North Red; huge game at home against Pope John.

15 — Don Bosco Prep (7-5-1, 6-2-1 Northern Red)

            Ironmen fall to Tenafly; still have a shot if they can beat Pope John on Friday.

Titans Cup victory on Friday has Bulldogs on a roll; Valley Division title could be all but decided this week.

            Rams hope Tousant can outplay Rush in today’s HoVal rematch after both missed Saturday’s game.

Brick Memorial — Big wins over Middletowns South and North.

Bridgewater-Raritan — Continuing to take Central Red teams by surprise.

Chatham — Huge win over Randolph, but the state tournament is still a long shot.

Clifton — Mustangs have an easy week against Summit, Hamilton, and MKA.

Middletown North — Poor result against Brick Memorial, but today’s game with South Brunswick determines fate.

Middletown South — Hot and cold team made headlines by beating Brick.

Montclair — Only action this week is a rivalry game against MKA.

Montville — Big win over Pingry keeps Mustangs undefeated and ranked sixth in the MCSSIHL.

Morristown-Beard — More than respectable performance against PDS; full week, including St. John Vianney.

Paramus — Spartans still hanging around within striking distance in the Northern Red.

Roxbury — Slow week in preparation for crucial game with Morristown-Beard.

Rumson/Fair Haven — Five-game division win streak has Bulldogs hoping for a shot at championship.

South Brunswick — Vikings face Middletown North for Southern White title today.
